Ensuring that all of Maryland’s students are well informed, prepared and aware of what the aerospace industry is all about, and what the opportunities are in Maryland is important at all levels.

There are interesting learning opportunities and resources for available for students at all levels. Educational resources and projects are available to help kids learn more about Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, and how these subjects are important no matter what they want to do when they grow up.

There are lots of fun links and information resources for Elementary School Students and Middle School Students to learn about what aerospace, aviation and space exploration is. We have information for kids to use themselves, and information for parents and teachers to include in the classroom and projects at home.

For High School Students we have included additional information for help with the classroom experience, as well as internships and programs outside the classroom. There are lots of organizations in Maryland that want you to know more about aerospace, and to help students succeed in their preparation for vocational and college programs that will help them find rewarding and challenging jobs in the aerospace industry.

We have also included a number of resources for College Students who are interested in pursuing any number of careers in the aerospace industry. There are tremendous career opportunities in Maryland in a variety of fields related to aerospace, and the resources here are intended to provide students with a broad view, personally and educationally, what internship and career opportunities exist, and to help prepare them for a challenging career in the industry.

There are a number of resources available for educators and students. Many of these are listed on the student pages, but a great place for educators to start is on the Maryland Business Roundtable (MBRT) for Education’s Web Site entitled “Be What I Want to Be”. This site provides not only resources for students, but for educators as well. The MBRT site is a great place for teachers to start, and we recommend teachers review the student links to become familiar with the content, then encourage students to visit the “Be What I Want to Be” site as a great starting point.
